Panchayat Conference merges with AP, era of emotive politics is over : Bukhari | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 12: President of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (PC), an apex body of panchayat members, on Thursday announced to join Apni Party (AP). Meanwhile, a socio-political activist Fazal Baigh also joined the AP, a spokesman of the Apni Party said in a statement here Thursday evening. He said president of PC Shafiq Miralong with the members of his association on Thursday joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk Srinagar. While announcing the merger of PC with AP, Mir said the unique socio-economic and political agenda and the vision of its leadership distinguishes AP from the rest of regional political parties. He stated AP is the only party capable of addressing the challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the prevailing political circumstances. Mir remarked that the regional political parties in J&K have been doing emotive politics since decades and have never allowed the strengthening of the grassroots level democracy for their narrow political considerations. AP president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and party's senior functionaries welcomed Mir his association and Baig into the party fold. |
