National Seminar on problems of J&K, Ladakh Gujjars held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 20: International Gujjar Mahasabha (IGM) organised a day-long National Seminar on the problems of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Gujjars at Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, here today. Dr Indresh Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion while IGM National President Col Dev Anand Gujjar was guest of honour, National Vice president Choudhary Shafi Chechi, and National General Secretary KD Himachali were special invites for the event. The seminar was organised under the direction of IGM National General Secretary Choudhary Sameer and supervised by Choudhary Ali Mohd Chechi whereas a large number of members of gujjar community from Rajasthan, Haryanan, Delhi Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and UP were present during the event. The event started with garlanding of the chief guest,guest of honour and other invites by the team led by Choudhary Ali Mohd Chechi. Various speakers highlighted the problems of Gujjar community being faced in J&K and Ladakh. Dev Anand in his speech thanked central government for enacting Forest Act 2006 and SC, ST Atrocities Act and requested government to issue guidelines for the bureaucrats and officials to immediately give the benefits of the law to the Bakerwals and Gujjars he further said that the well planned rehabilitation action plan to be formulated for the dwellers community members at the earliest and till the time such rehabilitation plan is put into place the status be maintained of rights of the land being used by the Gujjar Bakarwals and no demolition/eviction drive of any kind be stopped. Ali Mohd Chechi in his interaction with the people said that the condition of the loss of business of the milk community during COVID19 should be compensated at earliest and would provide them adequate help. |
