SRINAGAR, Dec 10: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 94.23 percent as 526 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The total number of positive cases reached 1, 14,773 as 366 new cases were reported today; the death toll reached 1775 following eight fresh deaths.
Jammu district reported 99 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 63 cases, Baramulla district 29 cases, Budgam district 28 cases, Kupwara district 20 cases, Pulwama district 19 cases, Rajouri district 15 cases, Udhampur district 12 cases, Anantnag and Bandipora districts 11 cases each, Doda district 10 cases, Kishtwar district nine cases, Ganderbal district eight cases, Samba district seven cases, Kathua and Ramban districts six cases each, Kulgam and Reasi districts five cases each, Shopian district two cases and Poonch district one case.
Srinagar and Jammu districts each reported two fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Budgam, Pulwama, Anantnag and Udhampur districts. So far 1,141 people have lost their lives due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 634 virus related deaths have occurred so far.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 366 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 170 from Jammu division and 196 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 14,773. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and five from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 526 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 331 from Jammu Division and 195 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 14,773 positive cases, 4,848 are active positive, 1, 08,150 have recovered and 1,775 have died; 634 in Jammu division and 1,141 in Kashmir division.
Out of 32, 69,517 test results available, 31, 54,744 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 18,187 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21,359 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,848 in isolation and 27,714 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 62,491 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,974 positive cases, 1,140 active positive, 22,404 recovered, 430 deaths; Baramulla has 7,674 positive cases, 177 active positive, 7,332 recovered, 165 deaths; Budgam has 7,219 positive cases, 291 active positive, 6,823 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,322 positive cases, 189 active positive, 5,046 recovered, 87 deaths; Pulwama has 5,249 positive cases, 179 active positive, 4,983 recovered, 87 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,646 positive cases, 124 active positive, 4,440 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,513 positive cases, 110 active positive, 4,347 recovered, 56 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,316 positive cases, 160 active positive, 4,116 recovered, 40 deaths; Kulgam has 2,623 positive cases, 67 active positive, 2,504 recovered, 52 deaths and Shopian has 2,397 positive cases, 82 active positive, 2,278 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,853 positive cases, 806 active positive, 20,727 recovered, 320 deaths; Udhampur has 3,896 positive cases, 401 active positive, 3,442 recovered, 53 deaths; Rajouri has 3,659 positive cases, 234 active positive, 3,375 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,264 positive cases, 172 active positive, 3,034 recovered, 58 deaths; Kathua has 2,954 positive cases, 110 active positive, 2,800 recovered, 44 deaths.
"Kishtwar has 2,630 positive cases, 201 active positive, 2408 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,600 positive cases, 190 active positive, 2,376 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 2,415 positive cases, 37 active positive, 2,356 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,017 positive cases, 83 active positive, 1,913 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,552 positive cases, 95 active positive, 1,446 recovered, 11 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 14,773 positive cases in J&K, 10,944 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
