Kavinder seeks apology from Panthers Party’s leader for insulting women | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 12: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta slammed Panther Party’s leader for using derogatory language against the women, criticizing the Party for its disrespectful and anti-gender comments. While addressing a series of meeting in connection with DDC polls here, the senior BJP leader said that the Panthers party has lost its credibility in the public domain and have a mud ridden track record when it comes to the rights and respect of women folk. He asked Balwant Singh Mankotia to apologies from the women folk for his unparliamentarily language. “BJP at the Centre and UT have from time to time framed public centric policies besides have launched multiple schemes like ‘Beti Bacho Beti Padho’ besides number of other schemes for women empowerment,” Kavinder said and added that every now and then, BJP led government has come up with a women centric policies and set a separate quote for women folk in every sector. Kavinder said that in the District Development Council (DDC) elections, BJP is the only party in the UT which has allotted adequate tickets to woman candidates. In both the divisions of the UT including Kashmir and Jammu, Kavinder said, “BJP has uplifted more women candidates to participate in the ongoing polls only for empowerment of women.” He said that so far the successive regimes which ruled the erstwhile State of J&K for more than 70 years have did nothing for women folk. However, the BJP led government has done more than that in just 6 years.
