JEHANGIR RASHID Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 12: The total number of positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 15,626 as 419 new cases were reported today. The death toll due to the virus reached 1793 as seven more people died in the past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 118 new cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 89 cases, Budgam district 35 cases, Udhampur district 26 cases, Baramulla district 24 cases, Ganderbal district 16 cases, Kupwara district 14 cases, Kathua and Kishtwar districts 13 cases each, Rajouri district 12 cases, Samba district 11 cases, Pulwama district 10 cases, Bandipora, Shopian and Doda districts nine cases each, Anantnag district five cases, Ramban district three cases, Poonch district two cases and Reasi district one case. Jammu district in the Jammu division reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Baramulla district in Kashmir division with two deaths and a death each in Kupwara & Rajouri districts. So far 1,148 people have lost their lives to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 645 people have died due to the virus. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that that 419 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 208 from Jammu division and 211 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 15,626. Also seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four from Jammu division and three from Kashmir division. Moreover, 430 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 226 from Jammu division and 204 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 15,626 positive cases, 4,831 are active positive, 1, 09,002 have recovered and 1,793 have died; 645 in Jammu division and 1,148 in Kashmir division. Out of 33, 19,656 test results available, 32, 04,030 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 26,972 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 23,197 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,831 in isolation and 27,154 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 69,997 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,161 positive cases, 1,127 active positive, 22,601 recovered, 433 deaths; Baramulla has 7,717 positive cases, 208 active positive, 7,341 recovered, 168 deaths; Budgam has 7,290 positive cases, 304 active positive, 6,881 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,361 positive cases, 185 active positive, 5,088 recovered, 88 deaths; Pulwama has 5,276 positive cases, 175 active positive, 5,014 recovered, 87 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,657 positive cases, 124 active positive, 4,451 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,533 positive cases, 110 active positive, 4367 recovered, 56 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,343 positive cases, 165 active positive, 4,138 recovered, 40 deaths; Kulgam has 2,624 positive cases, 66 active positive, 2,506 recovered, 52 deaths and Shopian has 2,414 positive cases, 91 active positive, 2286 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 22,072 positive cases, 791 active positive, 20,954 recovered, 327 deaths; Udhampur has 3,935 positive cases, 380 active positive, 3,502 recovered, 53 deaths; Rajouri has 3,688 positive cases, 236 active positive, 3,399 recovered, 53 deaths; Doda has 3,283 positive cases, 162 Active positive, 3063 recovered, 58 deaths; Kathua has 2,995 positive cases, 120 active positive cases, 2,830 recovered, 45 deaths. "Kishtwar has 2,656 positive cases, 155 active positive, 2,480 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,618 positive cases, 208 active positive, 2,376 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 2,419 positive cases, 36 active positive, 2,361 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,028 positive cases, 89 active positive, 1,918 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,556 positive cases, 99 active positive, 1,446 recovered, 11 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 15,626 positive cases in J&K, 10,988 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
