UDHAMPUR, Dec 12: On the directions of National Legal Services Authority and J&K UT Legal Services Authority, A National Lok Adalat was today organized by District Legal Services Authority Udhampur here in District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Mohan Lal Manhas, Chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge).
A total five benches were constituted. The first bench was presided over by Mohan Lal Manhas, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur and Sobha Ram Gandhi Additional Session Judge Udhampur. The second Bench was presided over by Sandeep Kour Sub Judge, Secretary DLSA Udhampur and Preet Simran Kour Sub Judge Special Mobile Magisterate Udhampur.
The third Bench was headed by Girja Shavan ,Addl Special Mobile Magistrate Udhampur and Kamiya Singh Munsiff, JMIC Udhampur . Similarly, fourth bench was headed by Munsiff Chenani, Amandeep Kour and assisted by Advocate A.S Katoch and Balwan Singh and the fifth bench was headed by Munsiff Priyanka Gupta Munsiff Majalta and Saqib Saleem Tehsildar Majalta .
In all 209 cases of different nature were taken up, of which 109 cases were settled on the spot. A total Rs 36.14 Lakh were realized in different cases settled on the spot. An amount of Rs 30.30 Lakh was awarded as compensation in MACT cases while a total of Rs 5.043 Lakh was realized in various bank cases. .Besides, fine amounting to Rs 80,300 was realized in respect of various criminal compoundable cases. Similar Lok Adalats were also organized at Tehsil headquarters Chenani and Majalta.
