JKCA trials marked with controversies as 2 key players from Kishtwar dropped | | | ASIF IQBAL NAIK

JAMMU, Dec 18: After controversy rocked Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association District body elections, the list of the probable for the T-20 Cricket selection camp is now marked with controversies after key players with best performances were dropped while some influential and non-performers were picked up. As per the details available with Early Times, there is uproar against the district body of JKCA for dropping two key players viz Sachin Kumar (Bowler) and Mehmood Ur Rehman alias Faizan Butt (All-rounder) from the list that has been sent to Jammu for trials. JKCA Kishtwar body has forwarded the names of 13 players from Kishtwar District for participation in the trials including some key Ranji players. “Sachin and Faizan are the best performers in various Cricket tournaments organised at Kishtwar and Doda Districts— both were left out from the final probable list— which is very unfortunate”, said Sufiyan Kandoo adding that some players who were included in the list are non-performers. Another Cricketer Muddasir Zarger said that he is surprised to see some of the names in the list while feels sorry to not find the name of best performer like Sachin who is one of the best bowlers in the present lot of players. He said that JKCA must call Sachin as well as Faizan for trials in addition to already named 13 players from Kishtwar District. Meanwhile, several former cricketers slammed the JKCA for biased list and called for bringing transparency in selection process so that poor players from remote and backward areas of Kishtwar District could get an opportunity to flourish at highest level. |
