Day 2: Tribal folk artists mesmerized audiences by their performance | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 27: On day 2 of the tribal folk-dance festival, artists from different parts of India showcased their talent at Abhinav Theatre. Former Tourism Minister Priya Sethi and BJP senior leader Yudhvir Sethi were the guest of honour. Dancers from Haryana performed Ghumar. Team from Telengana also performed its Mathuri dance form.Those from Rajasthan performed Chakri dance. From Tripura, Liibangh dance form was performed.From Assam, Bihu dance. Team Madhya Pradesh performedNorta, Maharashtra performed Koli and artists from Oddisa performed Dalkhai dance.5-day tribal folk festival was inagurated at Abhinav theatre on December 27 and folk artists from 11 states, UTs to will showcase their talent North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) and Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu is jointly Organizing ‘National Folk Dance Festival’ from December 26-28. The festival is of five days and for three days it will be organised at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Artists from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Rajashthan, Odisha and Punjab will participate in it. Jammu and Kashmir has a rich tribal tradition and artists need a platform to showcase their talent. |
