NH44 blocked, landslide at Chanderkote | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Dec 27:The vehicular traffic on the 270Km long Jammu-Srinagar national highway(NH44) remained blocked for more than 10 hours since morning today due to a landslide at Duggi Puli Chanderkot in Ramban near the CRPF Camp. The debris clearance operation started very late due to the late arrival of machinaries and the operation went till late evening. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both ends of the blocked site since morning. The stranded passengers in compulsion were seen trekking over the debris mound on the road to reach their destinations. Meanwhile,the human face of CRPF was yet again seen in Chanderkot near the blocked site when today afternoon, the cops of CRPF 84 Battalion led by its 2nd in Command Mritunjay Kumar established a Langar and served cooked food to the stranded hungary passengers. The cops offered Dal,Sabzi,rice and Chapatties besides drinking water to them and provided them a timely respite from hunger. Mritunjay claimed to have served food to about 400 stranded hungary passengers. The passengers were all praise and profusely thankful to the CRPF men led by their compassionate office
