Kishtwar police busts gang of thieves, recover stolen laptops, LEDs, mobiles | | | ASIF IQBAL NAIK Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 4: In a major success, Kishtwar police busted the gang of thieves involved in various theft cases in different areas of Kishtwar town and its adjoining area and recovered 2 LEDs, 2 laptop and some other electronic items including some mobiles while at the same time police also initiated action to make recoveries of the articles sold by the accused to some persons at cheaper rates. As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar police received an information from general public about sale of costly electronic products at cheaper rates by some persons. Kishtwar police immediately swung into action and detain the person involved in sale of these products. On verification, it was found that the products that were sold at cheaper rates was actually the stolen property and on this case FIR No.3/2021 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered against Rahul Singh, son of Gopal Singh r/o Himachal Pradesh, at present Asrarabad Kishtwar. On the disclosure of the accused, police made the recoveries of the stolen goods which include Laptops, LEDs, mobile and other gadgets. It is pertinent to mention here that the accused Rahul Singh was also booked in 2019 under similar section but was released by the court on the plea that he is a minor and falls under Juvenile category contrary to the facts that he forged the date of birth in Aadhaar card. The sources told the Early Times, that the accused in order to escape the law forged his date of birth on his Aadhaar card wherein his age is about 15 years and successfully managed to get the Aadhaar card on Kishtwar address while the accused is above 21 years old. The sources told the Early Times that Kishtwar police also get the counselling of the accused done and even provided financial assistance to him so as to bring him on track of living a normal life, but he instead living a normal life continued his illegal activities following which he was asked to leave jurisdiction of Kishtwar District, but the accused dodged Kishtwar police and managed to run away to Padder from where he continued his activities of theft and social crime. Senior officials told the Early Times that they are investigating into the matter that how the accused managed to forged his date of birth and aadhaar card on local address added that they are also mulling to register another FIR in this regard. Police sources said that police has identified some people who had purchased the products from accused and same will be recovered from them. Senior officials said that investigation into the matter is on and said that they are hopeful of cracking whip on those involved in various theft cases in the district. |
