Srinagar, Jan 5: The authorities on Tuesday ordered rationing of fuel, including petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders, in Kashmir valley, which remained cutoff from the rest of the country for the third successive day as the air and road connectivity has been snapped in view of moderate to heavy snowfall. An order issued by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole instructed concerned government departments to ensure rationing of fuel in the valley. According to the order, only three liters will be issued to two wheelers while five liters will be provided to three wheelers. "Private four wheelers will be given 10 liter while commercial vehicles will be issued 20 liter of fuel," he said. The order further said that heavy motor vehicles, including buses and trucks, will be issued 20 liters of fuel. "The LPG cylinder shall be issued to the consumer only after 21-days against proper acknowledgement and record," it said. The order further said that all the concerned departments shall conduct extensive market checking to crack whip on the persons indulging in overcharging, blackmailing and profiteering. "Concerned Tehsildar and TSO shall make surprise visits and ensure implementation of these directions and report through concerned Deputy Commissioners. |
