DTEA delegation calls on Lt Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called representatives of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association (DTEA), at Raj Bhavan to discuss ongoing agitation in support of demands to constitute a public board of temples under the Dharmarth Trust or merged with the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. A deputation headed by Vivak Bandral, working President Rajender Shastri, Th. Karnail Chand, Ex-President of DTEA Surjit Salathia and Sanjib Kumar met with Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and handed over memorandum along with detailed of mismanagement and misappropriation of funds by persons having control on Dharmarth Trust for the last 72 years. The representatives of employees association brought into the notice of Lieutenant Governor, that the trustees occupied on Dharmarth Trust illegally and sold the multi-kanals of land and misuse of office for political and personal benefits and it is urgent need to constitute shrine board for the temples under Dharmarth Trust and safe guard the Dogra Heritage. Dharmarth Trust Employees Association, who are on protest for the last 41 days and chain hunger strike for the last 14 days under the banner of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association (DTEA), on Sunday vowed to intensify its ongoing agitation if Government fails to listen to their demand to merge all temples falling under the Dharmarth Trust into the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The Lieutenant Governor Sinha listened to the deputation patiently and assured that a high level committee shall be constituted to look into the matter of Dharmarth Trust very shortly. |
