JAMMU, Jan 18: A week-long Online Faculty Development Programme, organized by Governm3ent Degree College (GDC) Chenani, concluded today. The programme was aimed at capacity building of faculty members for Online teaching learning process. The idea was further evolved by a team of experts from all over the country, led by Parveen Sharma, UniSkills, Kurukshetra, Haryana. The programme was the first of its kind and attracted phenomenal response the students as well. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related technical sessions focused on development of appropriate skills amongst teachers to enable them conduct online classes and adoption of Learning Management System (LMS) in the shortest possible time for addressing the curricular needs of the students. Program also had a session on Open Educational Resources (OERs) and remote access to the JMI library. Screen recording, making of video lectures, Web conferencing, Graphic designing, OER, Google Forms, Google Slides, Docs, Power Point, Canva, FreeCam, OpenShot, YouTube Channel, LinkedIn, Boogger-Blogs, making podcasts, Twitter, SlideShare, ICT Tools, Google Tools etc. were some of the tools used and taught during the event. Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College opined that the programme provided an opportunity for not only learning the online methods and tools, but also to interact with each other and to raise our concerns and doubts pertaining to teaching-theory as well as practical assignments and their evaluation thereof. She said that the College will keep on organizing such programs in the future also. |
