COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 97.54 percent in JK; 82 new cases, one death | Positive cases 123425, active positive 1111, recovered 120392, casualties 1922 | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 18: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.54 percent as 194 virus affected patients recovered today. With 82 new cases the total number of positive cases reached 123425; following one fresh death the death toll reached 1922. Jammu district reported 26 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar and Ganderbal districts 13 cases each, Budgam district seven cases, Kupwara district five cases, Udhampur district four cases, Reasi district three cases, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Samba districts two cases each and Bandipora, Kulgam & Kathua districts one case each. Samba district in the Jammu division reported one virus related death in the past 24 hours with no death being reported from Kashmir division. So far 1,206 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 716 people have died up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 82 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 36 from Jammu division and 46 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 23,425. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu division. Moreover, 194 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 123 from Jammu division and 71 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 23,425 positive cases, 1,111 are active positive, 1, 20,392 have recovered and 1,922 have died; 716 in Jammu division and 1,206 in Kashmir division. Out of 42, 74,813 test results available, 41, 51,388 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 10, 17,231 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 32,836 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,111 in isolation and 61,558 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 19,804 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 25,830 positive cases, 220 active positive, 25,157 recovered, 453 deaths; Baramulla has 8,064 positive cases, 61 active positive, 7,831 recovered, 172 deaths; Budgam has 7,715 positive cases, 53 active positive, 7,547 recovered, 115 deaths; Pulwama has 5,671 positive cases, 66 active positive, 5,517 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,626 positive cases, 67 active positive, 5,465 recovered, 94 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,852 positive cases, 52 active positive, 4,716 recovered, 84 deaths; Bandipora has 4,679 positive cases, 28 active positive, 4,590 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,578 positive cases, 76 active positive, 4,456 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,680 positive cases, 40 active positive, 2,586 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,551 positive cases, 53 active positive, 2,459, 39 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,665 positive cases, 160 active positive, 24,138 recovered, 367 deaths; Udhampur has 4,184 positive cases, 70 active positive, 4,057 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,863 positive cases, six active positive, 3,802 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,426 positive cases, 15 active positive, 3,347 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,248 positive cases, seven active positive, 3,190 recovered, 51 deaths. "Samba has 2,823 positive cases, 91 active positive, 2,692 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,729 positive cases, three active positive, 2,704 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,477 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,429 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,128 positive cases, 11 active positive, 2,096 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,636 positive cases, eight active positive, 1,613 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 23,425 positive cases in J&K, 11,460 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
