| ACD Kishtwar order for withholding of material payments under MGNREGA | | |

Jammu, Jan 22: After receiving numerous complaints of registration on blue eyed and fake vendors for withdrawal of material payments under MGNREGA on the name of these vendors, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katch ordered for withholding of the payments under material component under MGNREGA.
“As this office has received a number of complaints from different quarters alleging that payments on account of material component are being effected through fake vendors. The complaints of similar nature have also been lodged with higher ups. Accordingly, all the Block Development Officers are hereby directed to keep the payments under material component on hold till the matter is enquired” read order No. ACDK/MGNREGA/2020-21/5667-84 Dated 21-1-2021 issued by ACD Kishtwar.
ACD Kishtwar in another order ordered for constitution of committees comprises of BDOs and JEs who will check wether the vendors are registered as per guidelines duly recommended by Gram Sabha, that the material payments had been delivered to genuine vendors who had actually supplied the material beside to also check their is no PRI or Employee registered as vendors, that SOPs issued by the Secretary to Government RDD&PR regarding material payments had been strictly adhere.
The committee has been asked to submit its report by or before 28-1-2021.
