Facing shortage of PDC staff, 6 posts of CEs,19 posts of XEns vacant | | | early times report jammu, Jan 22: The J&K Power Development Department is facing severe shortage of staff especially the chief engineers and Executive Engineer's. According to sources out of 35 senior engineers only 16 are available while rest are vacant which has totally affected the functioning of the Department. Sources said even the employees are perturbed due to shortage of staff in organisation as their routine work is also hampered but no one at the helm of affairs has bothered to fill up the vacant posts for years together. Sources said the Hovernment' s failure to provide staff to organisation has led to lot of public resentment also in the UT. Sources said out of six posts of Chief Engineers on the role of Corporation four are vacant while two are only available and Government has taken no pains to fill up the vacant posts. Likewise the posts of Executive Engineer Generation Division Ganderbal and Gas Turbine Division, Pampore are vacant for a long time. Same is case with Jammu Division where post of Executive Engineer Sawlakot and Generation Division Jammu are lying vacant and these divisions are run through temporary arrangements, sources added. Sources said though hundreds posts of JEs and AEs are lying vacant in the organisation but authorities have failed to fill up them despite the fact that large number of unemployed enginers are lying idle in the UT for years together as Government failed to absorb them. Sources said these engineers have made many pleas to get vacant posts filled up but to no avail. |
