After PC, NC leaders frequent New Delhi | | | early times report SRINAGAR, Jan 22: After a Peoples Conference leader, the National Conference leaders have started frequenting New Delhi, setting the rumor mills rife that "something is cooking" in the national capital. Sources said after the declaration of the results of the recently concluded District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir, some of the senior leaders of the National Conference including those from the Abdullah family travelled to Delhi. Sources said in the last around a fortnight, at least three senior leader of NC "camped in New Delhi and haven't been talking much about the reasons behind their sudden travel." Sources said the NC leaders trying to get in touch with the BJP leaders is not being ruled out. The NC leaders started travelling to New Delhi soon after NC, President, Omar Abdullah defended the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi over the launch of Covid19 vaccine by targeting senior politician Akhilesh Yadav, who had taken a dig at the Modi government. Omar said he was willing to get vaccinated if given a chance. Sources said Omar has already "gone soft on social media and avoids confronting" the Bharatiya Janta Party. Sources said there was every possibility that the NC leaders were trying to appease BJP since the day, the Enforcement Directorate attached the property of former Chief Minister and National Conference, Patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah. Interestingly this has happened after a senior leader of the Peoples Conference travelled to New Delhi. Interestingly both the NC and the PC are among the main constituents of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration. Source said the camping of the NC and PC leaders in Delhi has left the other parties of PAGD in a "dilemma about the conduct of the constituents and future of the alliance." "There is a need to have a code a conduct in the Gupkar alliance as otherwise it seems that the PAGD is only making fool of the people while its members are indivisibly resorting to appeasement," said a senior politician on the condition of anonymity. Despite repeated attempts the NC leaders were not available for comments. |
