JAMMU, Jan 22: Assuring the masses that Jammu Police have a remedy to tackle crime in Jammu, Shridhar Patil SSP Jammu today said that tough steps are being taken to make Jammu a crime free city. “We have cracked the whip on history sheeters. Data of history sheeters who have Armed licenses has been collected, according it is further being shared with the concerned District Magistrates for immediate cancelation of licenses obtained by the history sheeters”, Patil said, adding that it is also being pursued that after cancelation of arm licenses the weapon could be seized immediately. “In past incidents, licensed weapons were used in some cases by some history sheeters. To end this precedent, Jammu Police took this step”, he added. Patil said the history sheeters would be booked under public safety act (PSA), if needed. “The history sheeters are regularly being summoned by the concerned Police station, and checks are being kept on their activities.
