| KVK-Leh conducts hands on training programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 22: Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Leh, SKUAST-K conducted a series of hands on training programmes during a two-day tour to Gya village of Kharu Block. The two day tour was organized w.e.f 19 th to 20 th January 2021. The team from KVK-Leh was headed by Dr. Feroz Din Sheikh, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Leh and comprised of Dr. Sabiya Asmat (Scientist Home Science), Dr. F. A Shah Khan (Scientist Agroforestry), Dr. Kunzang Lamo (Scientist Vegetable science), Jigmet Laskit (Programme Assistant), Bushra Khan (JRF) and Stanzin (JRF).
During the tour various hands-on trainings on production of high value vegetable crops using polyhouses, livestock housing during winter, pest management and improvement of pasture grasses were imparted to the farmers under Biotech-Kissan Hub, SKUAST-K. An animal camp was also organized where about 80 animals (cattle, sheep, goats and horses) were treated for different ailments.
Method demonstration on preparation of multigrain cake (buckwheat) was also shown to the farmers. The trainings were attended by about 50 farmers of village. The Goba of Gya village Phuntsog Dorjey thanked the team for conducting such valuable trainings and animal health camp at their village during peak winter when the farmers face the most problems. |
