CF appeals political parties to raise issue of Property Tax before govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 16: Citizens’ Forum (CF) appealed to the senior leaders of various political parties including BJP, NC, Congress and others to visit their voters and inquire about their pace of business. Forum said that all the political parties should find out particularly from small businesses, MSMEs, shopkeepers and daily vendors about the status of their income, whether they are sustaining their household and are they happy under these depressed financial conditions of the country and particularly J&K Union Territory and can they pay an extra taxation of Property Tax to the government. The Forum said that it is the duty of the political parties to take up the issue of Property Tax with the government as the people have voted for these outfits. People of J&K are suffering from a regular income and prosperity of their business for the last many years because of disturbed conditions of the region due to militancy. There has never been a regular flourishing business in this region like other peaceful states of India. Above that Finance Minister of India and RBI is regularly disclosing the depressed financial conditions of the country but the J&K UT government financial advisors are levying Property Tax on the properties which having closed or nominal businesses. Instead government should first make the people of the region capable of paying taxes by increasing their per-capita income, the Forum said. |
