Kalakote Treasury clerk accused of corruption | Demands bribe for release of salary, alleges teacher | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: A clerk posted in Kalakote treasury has allegedly demanded bribe to release the salary of a government teacher. Accusing the clerk for stalling his salary, government teacher Farooq Ahmed, Master presently posted at Government Higher Secondary School Dhalyote, alleged that a clerk posted at Kalakote treasury was demanding a bribe to release his salary. “I was posted at Government High School Dyala, in month of October, I was transferred from Dyala to Government Higher Secondary School Dalyote, but no post was vacant, so being a surplus teacher in the school I started online classes during COVID pandemic”, the teacher said, adding that my salary for two months was pending. “My salary bill was sent to Kalakote treasury for release of salary, I’m waiting for my hard earned money for the last five months, but the treasury clerk has kept my salary bill under the carpet”, Farooq said. “When I personally inquired about the delay in release of my salary I was told that the computer is not working but on the same day he released the salary of other teachers,” he added. “I took up the matter with, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote. The ADC acted swiftly into my complaint. He directed the clerk to release my salary without any further delay”, the teacher said, adding that even after the intervention of the ADC Kalakote he did not release my salary. When this correspondent contacted Treasury officer Kalakote and asked questions he evaded all the queries. “I’m out of station so I cannot comment over this issue. Come to my office tomorrow, meet me then I will talk to you”, he added. |
