SRINAGAR, Feb 16: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested an extortionist alongwith toy pistol and live four SLR rifle rounds in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. A police spokesperson said that a police team arrested one person while he was trying to extort money from another person near village Barsoo Awantipora on Srinagar-Jammu national highway. "The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, a resident of Dalwach Beerwah Budgam," he said. He said a toy pistol, a knife and four live round of SLR have been recovered from the arrested person. "A Case FIR No. 23/2020 U/S 307,392,511 IPC 7/25, 28 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Awantipora," he said. "Any connection of the arrested person with militants is being investigated," he added. |
