| Webinar on Career Opportunities in Merchant Navy held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Feb 16: The placement and Career Counseling cell of Government MAM College organized a webinar on “Career Opportunities in Merchant Navy” in collaboration with District employment and Counselling Centre, Jammu under the patronage of Prof Sunil Uppal, Principal of the college. Prof Bharti Slathia, Convener of the Career counseling Cell welcomed the participants and the resource person Vishal Singh, First officer, Carnival Cruise for the workshop and highlighted the need for arranging such activities aimed at generating employment opportunities for students. Prof Sunil Uppal, lauded the efforts of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell in organizing a Webinar on such a pertinent topic as it would help the young learners to learn about varied career options available to them. Vishal Singh provided the students with detailed insight into the field such as educational qualifications required, eligibility criterion, process of selection, the period of training, emoluments and the benefits of the Job. A very inspiring session motivated the students to put a lot of queries which were resolved during the question and answer session at the end. The webinar was keenly attended by about 50 students from BA, BBA and UG honors. Mr Dushyant Singh Career Counselling officer and Miss Shivali choudhary from DECC Jammu also briefed the students about the various initiatives being taken by DECC Jammu to benefit the students of the UT of J&K. |
