JKTA demands pay for J&K teachers at par with other UTs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 18: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) held under the chairmanship of Joginder Digra, Vice President of the Association. Addressing the meeting, Joginder Digra appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to solve the genuine issues of the teaching community of Jammu and Kashmir UT. He demanded that the pay anomaly of teachers should be removed and the pay should be at par with the other Union Territories of India. Teachers Association also demanded to frame transfer policy for female teachers, adding that more than 17 years of service in the same schools for GRADE-II and GRADE- III Teachers is arising a question on government policy for females teachers. The JKTA also demanded in a single voice that there must be an enhancement of honorarium of Mid-day Meal Cooks, adding that the minimum wages for the cooks should be Rs 6000 per month. Those who attended the meeting included Parveen Kumar (District President Jammu) Sikander Lal Zonal President Jammu, Ravi Kumar, Gurdas Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Vijay Kumar and several others. |
