COCONUT WATER BENEFITS

Coconut water has become a trendy beverage. Its tasty, refreshing and happens to be good for us. It is loaded with several important nutrients, including minerals.
Health benefits of coconut water :-
1. Good source of several mineral :- It contains 94 % of water and very little fat. It provides carbs, fiber, vitamin c, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and calcium.
2. Anti - oxidants properties :- There are many free radical which enter our body and damage cells and increase disease risk. Once studied found that rats with liver damage showed significant improvement in oxidative stress when treated with coconut water. Compare to rats that received no treatment .
3. May have benefits against diabetes : - Coconut water lowers blood sugar levels . It can improve other health markers in diabetic animals. Rats given coconut water had lower levels of haemoglobin. A1c, it indicates good long term blood sugar control. So, coconut water can easily fit in to a meal plan for people with diabetes. It is good source of magnesium which may increase insulin sensitivity and decrease blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes.
4. May help prevent kidney stones : - Drinking enough fluids is important for kidney stone prevention . Although plain water is a great choice but one studied suggests that coconut water may be even better. Kidney stone form when calcium, oxalate and other components combine to form crystal in urine these can then form stones. Researchers believe that coconut water helped to reduce free radical production that occurred in response to high oxalate level in urine.
5. May support Heart health :- Drinking coconut water is helpful to reduce heart disease risk . Coconut water has powerful cholesterol lowering properties. In one study rats that consumed coconut water had reduction in blood cholesterol and triglycerides. They also experience significant decrease in liver fat.
6. May reduce Blood pressure :- Coconut water is great for controlling blood pressure. Coconut water contains 600 mg of potassium. Potassium has been shown to lower blood pressure in people with high or normal blood pressure. One more study shows that coconut water has anti thrombotic activity which means it may prevent the formation of blood clots in arteries.
7. Beneficial after prolonged exercise :- Coconut water may be perfect beverage for restoring hydration and replenishing electrolytes lost during exercise. Electrolytes are minerals that several important roles in our body including maintaining proper fluid balance. They include potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium. Two studies found that coconut water restore hydration after exercise better than water and equal to high electrolytes sport beverage. The participants also said that coconut water caused less nausea and stomach discomfort.
8. Delicious source of hydration :- Coconut water is slightly sweet with subtle nutty flavour. It islow in calories and carbs. Coconut water can be consumed directly from green coconuts. Coconut water is delicious, nutritious and natural beverages. It is extremely good for us. Start sipping this tropical drink and be assure to avoid products with added sugar.
