SRINAGAR, Mar 11: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 75 new cases of COVID-19 following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,363. Following a fresh death the death toll due to the virus reached 1,969. Srinagar district reported 39 fresh cases of Corona Virus including 15 travelers followed by Jammu district 10 cases, Anantnag district eight cases, Baramulla and Budgam districts four cases each, Pulwama and Kulgam districts three cases each and Bandipora & Shopian districts two cases each. No case was reported from 11 districts with Anantnag district reporting a fresh death. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 75 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 10 from Jammu division and 65 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,363. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 77 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 12 from Jammu division and 65 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,363 positive cases, 896 are active positive, 1, 24,498 have recovered and 1,969 have died; 729 in Jammu division and 1,240 in Kashmir division. Out of 54, 88,910 test results available, 53, 61,547 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 13, 74,133 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 31,916 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 896 in isolation and 1, 12,890 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 26,462 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,444 positive cases, 424 active positive, 26,557 recovered, 463 deaths; Baramulla has 8,363 positive cases, 87 active positive, 8,099 recovered, 177 deaths; Budgam has 7,950 positive cases, 52 active positive, 7,778 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,897 positive cases, 39 active positive, 5,767 recovered, 91 deaths; Kupwara has 5,705 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,593 recovered, 97 deaths. “Anantnag has 5,075 positive cases, 33 active positive, 4,953 recovered, 89 deaths; Bandipora has 4,724 positive cases, 15 active positive, 4,647 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,684 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4,619 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,748 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,679 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,617 positive cases, 16 active positive, 2,561 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,359 positive cases, 154 active positive, 24,828 recovered, 377 deaths; Udhampur has 4,319 positive cases, four active positive, 4,258 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,877 positive cases, one active positive, 3,821 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,440 positive cases, two active positive, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,269 positive cases, four active positive, 3,212 recovered, 53 deaths. “Samba has 2,841 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,794 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, one active positive, 2,716 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,528 positive cases, eight active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,649 positive cases, one active positive, 1,632 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,363 positive cases in J&K, 12,580 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
