Thieves arrested stolen gold, cash yet to recover | Theft in Sainik Colony | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: In a bizarre investigation into a theft case by Jammu Police, burglars involved in a theft case at Sainik Colony area were arrested long back by the Police, but after a lapse of three weeks when the case was registered, stolen gold and cash have not been recovered so far. However, the Jammu Police solve my such cases on a daily basis, but the number of theft cases in Jammu are touching new heights, with each passing day. According to sources, burglars struck in a house in Sainik Colony, when the owners of the house were out of station. "When owner, returned back they saw locks of door broken, valuable items including cash and gold were missing", sources told Early Times, adding that the owner of the house lodged a complaint at Police Post Sainik Colony, on February 20, a case was registered at Police Station Channi. "However, the thieves have also stolen CCTVs installed in the house to mislead Police, but on basis of complaint one of the tenants leaving in the house and his friend were picked up by the Police", they said, adding that the duo have confessed their involvement in the crime. "Unfortunately, the third person who run away with gold (100gram) worth around five lacs rupees and cash (Rs 15000), still at large", sources said, adding that third person was a resident of Bakshi Nagar, might be hiding somewhere, but the Police is also not pursuing the case seriously. Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony, Sub Inspector Rahul Dogra said that investigation into the case was going on, soon absconding thieves would be behind the bars. "I joined here 10 days ago, but I assure the complainant that soon we will workout the case and stollen gold and cash will be recovered", he added. |
