JK reports 99 new cases of COVID-19; three deaths, positive cases reach 127535 | Active positive 881, recovered 124680, casualties 1974 | | jehangir rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 13: With 99 new cases of Corona Virus being reported in the past 24 hours or so the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,535; as three more people died due to the virus the death toll due to the virus in Jammu & Kashmir reached 1,974. Srinagar district reported 42 fresh cases of COVID-19 including 19 travelers followed by Jammu district 14 cases, Baramulla district 12 cases, Budgam and Reasi districts six cases, Anantnag district four cases, Shopian district three cases, Pulwama, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Samba districts two cases each and a case each in Udhampur & Poonch districts. A death each was reported from Srinagar, Pulwama and Samba districts. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 99 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 24 from Jammu division and 75 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,535. Also three COVID-19 deaths have been reported, one from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 102 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 11 from Jammu division and 91 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,535 positive cases, 881 are active positive, 1, 24,680 have recovered and 1,974 have died; 730 in Jammu division and 1,244 in Kashmir division. Out of 55, 34,502 test results available, 54, 06,967 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 13, 84,247 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,369 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 881 in isolation and 1, 16,381 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 35,642 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,520 positive cases, 403 active positive, 26,653 recovered, 464 deaths; Baramulla has 8,385 positive cases, 93 active positive, 8,115 recovered, 177 deaths; Budgam has 7,961 positive cases, 54 active positive, 7,787 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,901 positive cases, 24 active positive, 5,785 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,708 positive cases, 11 active positive, 5,600 recovered, 97 deaths. "Anantnag has 5,082 positive cases, 28 active positive, 4,963 recovered, 91 deaths; Bandipora has 4,726 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,650 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,687 positive cases, 17 active positive, 4,623 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,750 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,681 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,621 positive cases, 20 active positive cases, 2,561 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,382 positive cases, 161 active positive, 24,844 recovered, 377 deaths; Udhampur has 4,321 positive cases, six active positive, 4,258 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,878 positive cases, two active positive, 3,821 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,440 positive cases, two active positive, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,269 positive cases, four active positive, 3,212 recovered, 53 deaths. "Samba has 2,843 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,795 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, one active positive, 2,716 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,532 positive cases, 12 active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,655 positive cases, seven active positive, 1,632 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,535 positive cases in J&K, 12,633 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
