Early Times Report JINDRAH (JAMMU), Mar 13: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah organised a day-long tour of college students to ancient Babaur temples in Manwal on Saturday. The tour was organised under the guidance of Professor Rajshree Dhar, Principal of GDC Jindrah while the Programme Officer of NSS unit, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma coordinated the event. During the day-long visit, the students were taken to Baniya temple, Dera temple, Kala Dera temple Two and Three, and Nand Babaur Shiv Mandir Babaur Maath. They were informed about the history of these ancient sites and religious importance of these sites was also highlighted. The Multi-Task staff of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) briefed students and staff of the GDC Jindrah about the historical importance of these sites. On the occasion, the Block Development Council (BDC) Advocate Amit Sharma delivered a lecture on women empowerment and sponsored refreshment for students. Prominent among those who attended the programme were Rakesh Kumar, Mani Ram and Giri Ji Maharaj. |
