Revocation of Article 370, BJP govt spoils future of J&K youth | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 17:Former Home Minister and senior leader of National Conference (NC), Najeeb Suharwardy today strongly condemned the police action on the youth protesting peacefully outside BJP office at Jammu. In a statement issued today, Suharwady said that it is highly condemnable that the youth, who are eligible aspirants of Central Security Forces like CISF and BSF have been handled by the BJP led Central Government and the J&K Administration and police like criminals and they were detained from the spot where they were on peaceful protest since last 45 days. "The high-headed BJP leadership of Jammu and Kashmir have not bothered that over two dozen youth from maximum areas of Jammu region were on demonstration for genuine demands of adjustment in CISF and BSF on merit," Soharwady said and anguish that those youth were detained two days back by police on the instructions of BJP. The NC leader said that this is the dark outcome of revocation of Article 370 and conversion of state to UT that youth of Jammu and Kashmir are forced to agitate for jobs they deserved on merit. The aspirants were detained first and later other aspirants assembled outside Police Lines Jammu and staged a vociferous protest against the police, but they were also dispersed forcefully. The protesting youth said that security forces jobs are their rights. “Everyone has the right to protest and raise their voice but the BJP and J&K Government has an inhumane attitude towards the youth” Suharwardy added.
