Third Front in-offing as Beigh joins Peoples’ Conference

Jammu, Mar 17: In an attempt to provide alternative to National Conference and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh today joined the Peoples’ Conference headed by Sajad Gani Lone.
It was home coming for veteran politician Beigh because he had played an important role in the formation of Peoples’ Conference in late 1970s under the leadership of Abdul Gani Lone.

Hobnobbing started in Nov, 2020
Hobnobbing of Beigh with Peoples’ Conference was started in the month of November 2020 when he had stated that he will leave the PDP in case the third front emerges in J&K. He said that Sajad Lone was like his son and People’s conference a home.
Baig who is also the co-founder of PDP said if the third front emerges which is also what the Peoples Conference-led by Sajad Lone is aiming at, he will join it.

Beigh re-joined the Peoples’ Conference in presence of Sajad Lone and other senior leaders of the party.
Reliable sources said that Beigh’s joining Peoples Conference was first step towards providing an alternative to PDP and NC in Kashmir Valley. “In the coming days more politicians would join this group”, sources said and revealed that this group would also rope in some leaders from Jammu province.
Beigh, who served as deputy chief minister of J&K, had resigned from PDP in November 2020 over its seat-sharing arrangement with NC in in DDC polls.
