Coterie spoiling Mehbooba's political career; two more senior leaders quit PDP | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 21: Due to unnecessary interference in all activities of organization by a coterie, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti finding it difficult to keep its flock together as two more prominent leaders today deserted the party. Although former Yasir Reshi has already maintained a distance from day-today activities of the PDP for the last more than one day, Mehbooba Mufti received a big jolt on Sunday when party's face in Srinagar city Khursheed Aalam resigned, shifting all blames on a coterie to hijack the party. Aalam a former trade union leader is former MLC and was appointed as member of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of PDP just three days back. "My conscious not allowing me to work in the party which is hijacked by a coterie of leaders", he told media persons and regretted that instead of accommodating views of other leaders only a group was taking all important policy decisions. Sources said that Khursheed Aalam had over the time developed some serious differences with the party leadership for its way to deal on several fronts including that on party's internal and external issues. Meanwhile PDP leader from Sumbal Sonawari Constituency, Yasir Reshi resigned from basic membership of party after Khursheed Aalam who resigned early morning today. Yasir said, "after meeting was conveyed with workers in Naidkhai today, I decided to Part myself away from PDP". For the last more than one year Yasir Reshi was inactive in the PDP and was seen with Peoples' Conference leader Sajad Lone a number of times. In the recently held DDCs elections, Yasir had supported Peoples' Conference candidate. He is likely to join Peoples' Conference. |
