JAMMU, Mar 22: A meeting was held under the chairpersonship of Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Govt. Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AH) regarding various issues pertaining to operationalization of Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) Gandhi Nagar keeping in view Covid-19.
The meeting was called in view of the denotification of the Gandhi Nagar hospital by Director Health Jammu. It was decided in the meeting for early operationalization of OTs and labour room at SMGS AND MCH Gandhi Nagar Jammu for Gynae & Obst. Covid patients.
After threadbare discussion it was decided in the meeting that the existing post-partum care (PPC) area in SMGS Hospital, Jammu shall be used for the management of Obst.& Gynae Covid-19 positive patients.
It was also decided in the meeting that the Covid-19 positive new born babies shall be kept in the paediatric surgery OT and Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) shall be done at outside the PPC by installing a Kiosk.
The PMC was apprised during the meeting that most of the equipments are available for starting of the OTs. She stressed upon the start of Covid OT also in addition to non Covid theatres in view of the upward trend of Covid -19.
It was also decided in the meeting that for the time being SMGS shall work as Covid-19 dedicated hospital also until MCH Gandhi Nagar is fully operationalized.
