Patil's clear message to J&K Cong: Relieve Azad loyalists from party's responsibilities | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 22: AICC incharge J&K Congress, Rajni Patil today gave green signal to incumbent Congress leadership to take action against loyalists of former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for not participating in activities of party. "Those sitting in their houses at this crucial time should be relieved from all responsibilities of the party", a source quoting Rajni Patil told The Early Times. "Rajni Patil was annoyed over attitude of Azad loyalists who have been boycotting official functions of the party for the last some months", sources said and revealed that Patil asked PCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir to take appropriate step to check indiscipline in the party. Sources said that this evening Rajni Patil called meeting of the prominent party leaders of Jammu urban and Jammu rural districts but some senior leaders, who owe their allegiance with Azad, were conspicuously absent. Patil has convened this meeting to devise strategy of the party for future course of action in Jammu district. Sources said that Patil made it clear that those taking party's activities non-seriously should be shown the door to induct new faces in the Congress to revive party in his erstwhile strong-holds. As reported earlier by The Early Times, Patil has been specially deputed by Congress high-command to hold interaction with party leaders at district level to counter attempt to G-23 leaders to destabilize party in J&K. After holding series of meetings in Kashmir Valley for two days, Patil will meet with district committees of Congress in Jammu province. As per official handout issued by the party, Patil took feedback about the current state of affairs especially on the political front and the organizational activities and the various problems of different sections of the society during the four-hour long meeting. |
