Several key departments remain headless after administrative reshuffle | We are looking for suitable officers, says Comm/Secy GAD | | rajesh tandon Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 22: Despite major reshuffle at administrative level by the Government, which was carried out recently, there are some key departments which have been left headless and no official has been deputed there due to which the smooth functioning of these departments has been hampering a lot. Sources told Early Times that in the recent transfers and postings order issued by the GAD, the Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner Samba while Director Geology & Mining J&K, Vikas Sharma was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner Doda but even after the lapse of one week government has failed to send their replacements so far. Keeping such important departments without head is unimaginable, as many senior officers are awaiting adjustment by the General Administration Department, they said. A delegation of employees told Early Times that instead of making the departments vibrant, the government is trying to make them defunct by keeping them headless. The UT administration should immediately look into it as keeping the key departments headless is not a good sign and this will hamper the overall functioning, progress and accountability of offices. When contacted the Commissioner/Secretary to GAD Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said, "We are looking for suitable officers to head these important directorates. Posting will be done soon." |
