Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 22: Punjabi Sahitak Sabha (PSS) R S Pura Jammu organized a Punjabi literary meet in which the renowned Punjabi poets and writers participated. Harjit Sing Uppal President of PSS welcomed the participants and elaborated upon the challenged being faced by Punjabi language consequent upon its removal as official language in J&K UT. He also presented to the poets the Punjabi poetry book 'Thandian Chhawan ' by Prof Anmol Singh. Dr Baljit Singh Raina presided over the meet. The session started with the story "Ik Chamataar hor" by Pritam Singh Anjan. It was followed by the poetry session in which Harbhajan Singh Upashak, Rahi Simbal Puria, Rattan Singh Kanwal, Balwinder Singh Deep, J P Singh Azad, Pritam Singh Anjan, Balwinder Singh Jammu, Suraj Singh Suraj and Harjit Sngh Uppal recited their poems and gazals reflecting the present scenario of the society. In the concluding moments, Dr. Baljit Singh Raina expressed his happiness upon the standard of the poetic compositions presented by various poets and congratulated everyone present on the successful conduct of the meet. He further threw light on the recent developments and the present status of Punjabi language. He ended his speech by reciting two beautiful poems. Harjit Singh Uppal, President of the Sabha conducted the proceedings of the meet while J P Singh Azad read the motion of thanks. |
