SRINAGAR, Mar 27: Jammu & Kashmir reported highest number of Corona Virus cases this year so far as 271 fresh cases came to the fore today. Following this the total number of positive cases reached 1, 29,684; death toll reached 1,985 with a fresh death reported in 24 hours from Kashmir valley. Srinagar district reported 118 new cases including 39 travelers followed by Jammu district 56 cases, Baramulla 42 cases, Budgam district 19 cases, Kathua district seven cases, Kupwara district six cases, Ramban district four cases, Pulwama, Bandipora and Samba districts three cases each, Anantnag, Shopian, Poonch and Doda districts two cases each and a case each from Kulgam & Udhampur districts. A fresh virus related death was reported from Srinagar district. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 271 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 75 from Jammu division and 196 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 29,684. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 138 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 13 from Jammu division and 125 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 29,684 positive cases, 1,813 are active positive, 1, 25,886 have recovered and 1,985 have died; 732 in Jammu division and 1,253 in Kashmir division. Out of 59, 18,723 test results available, 57, 89,039 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 14, 75,243 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 27,174 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,813 in isolation and 1, 20,838 in home surveillance. Besides, 13, 23,433 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 28,531 positive cases, 814 active positive, 27,248 recovered, 469 deaths; Baramulla has 8,658 positive cases, 221 active positive, 8,259 recovered, 178 deaths; Budgam has 8,123 positive cases, 131 active positive, 7,872 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,951 positive cases, 54 active positive, 5,805 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,764 positive cases, 32 active positive, 5,635 recovered, 97 deaths. “Anantnag has 5,136 positive cases, 16 active positive, 5,026 recovered, 94 deaths; Bandipora has 4,747 positive cases, 23 active positive, 4,662 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,700 positive cases, nine active positive, 4,644 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,770 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,701 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,643 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,579 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,740 positive cases, 373 active positive, 24,988 recovered, 379 deaths; Udhampur has 4,340 positive cases, 16 active positive, 4,267 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,890 positive cases, 11 active positive, 3,824 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,454 positive cases, 13 active positive, 3,377 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,294 positive cases, 19 active positive, 3,222 recovered, 53 deaths. “Samba has 2,856 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,802 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,740 positive cases, one active positive, 2,717 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,540 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,501recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,147 positive cases, 11 active positive, 2,115 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,660 positive cases, two active positive, 1,642 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 129684 positive cases, 13,121 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
