Apni Party holds protest against mining policy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 27: Leaders and workers of the Apni Party today held a massive demonstration at Domana against government demanding action against the sand and bajri mafia. Leading the protestors coordinator of S C wing of the Party Bodh Raj Bhagat told that officials are having hand in glove in the black marketing of the building material, as the rates of the Sand and Bajri are skyrocketing. The tractor trolly of the Sand which was costing Rs.1200 to Rs. 1500 six months ago has been costing Rs 3500 to Rs 5000 a trolly. How the governments dream of housing for all will be fulfilled if the rates of basic components for building a house are skyrocketing. He asked the government and officials of Geology and Mining department to mend their ways and keep check upon the price of sand and bajri. If government fails to meet the demand of the common people Apni Party will be forced to sit on dharna at the extraction sites. Those who present in the protest were Apni Party, OBC State coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, Distt. Rural President Satpal Verma, Naib Sarpanch Domana Subhash Singh, Jagdish Pandy, Bansi Lal and others. |
