SRINAGAR, Mar 30: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir continues to witness surge in Corona Virus cases on daily basis with 359 fresh infections being reported in the past 24 hours. With this the total number of positive cases reached 1, 30,587; following a fresh death the death toll reached 1,990. Srinagar district reported 150 new cases including 51 travelers followed by Jammu district 59 cases, Baramulla district 46 cases, Budgam and Kathua districts 19 cases each, Kulgam district 14 cases, Pulwama district 12 cases, Anantnag district 10 cases, Udhampur district seven cases, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts five cases each, Bandipora and Poonch districts three cases each, Shopian, Ramban and Rajouri districts two cases each and one case from Samba district. One death was reported from Srinagar district. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 359 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 93 from Jammu division and 266 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 30,587. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 175 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 20 from Jammu division and 155 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 30,587 positive cases, 2,293 are active positive, 1, 26,304 have recovered and 1,990 have died; 735 in Jammu division and 1,255 in Kashmir division. Out of 60, 17,096 test results available, 58, 86,509 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 14, 96,738 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 27,249 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2,249 in isolation and 1, 18,858 in home surveillance. Besides, 13, 46,348 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 28,903 positive cases, 965 active positive, 27,467 recovered, 471 deaths; Baramulla has 8,785 positive cases, 307 active positive, 8,300 recovered, 178 deaths; Budgam has 8,182 positive cases, 144 active positive, 7,918 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,987 positive cases, 77 active positive, 5,818 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,796 positive cases, 59 active positive, 5,640 recovered, 97 deaths. “Anantnag has 5,167 positive cases, 31 active positive, 5,042 recovered, 94 deaths; Bandipora has 4,756 positive cases, 25 active positive, 4,669 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,709 positive cases, 17 active positive, 4,645 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,787 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,702 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,647 positive cases, 22 active positive, 2,585 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,867 positive cases, 459 active positive, 25,027 recovered, 381 deaths; Udhampur has 4,352 positive cases, 20 active positive, 4,275 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,893 positive cases, 11 active positive, 3,827 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,455 positive cases, five active positive, 3,386 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,318 positive cases, 40 active positive, 3,225 recovered, 53 deaths. “Samba has 2,858 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,802 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,756 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,717 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,545 positive cases, 18 active positive, 2,502 recovered, 25 deaths; Ramban has 2,159 positive cases, 23 active positive, 2,115 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,665 positive cases, seven active positive, 1,642 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 30,587 positive cases in J&K, 13,309 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
