JTC-SKF protest continues, enters 192nd day

JAMMU, Apr 11: A strong protest was held by the Jagti Tenement Committee / Soan Kashmir Front J&K in Jagti Township, Nagrota Jammu under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita. The demonstration was in continuation to their protest which is going on for the last 192 days.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that the UT and central governments are not listening to our pleas. He said that the monthly cash relief of relief holders is very low in this era of inflation while the livelihood of the genuine relief holders is almost impossible due to which the relief holders are on the verge of death.
The government should increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month immediately. Pandita said that a government job should be given in those houses in which no educated unemployed youth has got a government employment till date.
Raj Kumar Tickoo, unit president of Jagti JTC and convener of SKF said there are many pensioners in our community who receive little pension, they should be given free ration and bank loans should be given to the over-aged youths without interest.
While other members said that Kashmir is their motherland and they want to live in Kashmir Valley
They said for permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley the Government should set up three Satellite townships in three districts of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag where at least 35,000 families can live together in each township.
They also demanded political and minority status for Kashmiri Pandits. Those who participated in the protest sit-in included Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Rakesh Ambardar, Kamal Ji Pandita, Sunil Koul, K N Bhat, Vijay Bakshi, Shuban Raina, RK Tickoo, Rakesh Tickoo, J L Koul, P N Koul, Kuldeep Raina, Ram Krishan, Mohan Krishan, Charanjeet Singh and several others.
