Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 11: Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu has released an Online Artists' Directory of Visual Artists of Jammu & Kashmir (UT)- 2021. The Directory was formally released on 11th April, 2021 by the veteran artist V S Rahi, Senior Advisor, JKCCA & Former Vice- President, All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi. A total of 145 living veteran, senior and young visual artists of the Jammu & Kashmir (UT) have been included in the Directory, which has been edited by Mssrs. T S Batra, Senior Artist & Former Principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, Jang S. Verman, Senior Artist & Columnist on Art & Culture, Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President, Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) and O P Sharma, Senior Artist & Director, JKCCA, Jammu. In his message, Sh. V S Rahi copmlimented O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA to take an initiative to compile and bring out the Directory of Visual Artists of Jammu & Kashmir. He also congratulated the team of Editors of the Directory and the members of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu. O P Sharma told that the need of bringing out an Artists' Directory of Visual Artists' of J&K had been felt from a long time, and no agency was coming forward for this purpose. JKCCA, taking a responsibility, has come forward for this job. According to him, the Directory would prove to be a useful tool in the hands of artists, art lovers, enthusiasts and collectors, and that may prove to improve better interaction among the concerned masses. It may be mentioned here that Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) was established way back in 1999 to preserve, promote and activate the splendid art heritage of Jammu & Kashmir and stimulate & rejuvenate it into a blossoming art movement. Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu has so far organized hundreds of art & culture activities including eight International Art Exhibitions, and many national and state level art exhibitions and camps during last few years, within and outside.
