Jammu Admin orders opening of shops on rotational basis

Jammu, Apr 20: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases, Deputy Commissioner Jammu on Tuesday ordered that shops and other commercial establishments should open on rotational basis with immediate effect.
According to the order the shops have been classified into groups. In the group-I shops dealing with clothes, readymade garments, boutiques, tailor shops, hair saloons, cosmetic shops, beauty parlours, gyms and Spas, Jewellery shops and showrooms. Hardware, cement & building material stores, sanitary goods stores, glass Houses, shuttering materials gift shops, florists and shops dealing with mobile phones, electrical appliances, watches and electric repair shops will open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
In the group-II shops dealing with groceries, departmental stores, confectionary shops and shops dealing with-- multiple item sale utensil, crockery stores, toy shops, shoes and chappal stores, book and stationary shops, novel stores, typing and printing, Photostat shops, automobile showrooms, service stations, welding shops, furniture showrooms and stores, home furnishing items and any other category not covered-in Group 1 will open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The order further stated that shops dealing with essential services & perishable items are exempted from the ambit of this order:- Chemist shops, diagnostic centres, medical & clinical establishments, ware house and wholesale establishments, vegetable and fruit markets, milk, meat and chicken shops, eateries and bakeries and street vendors.
