RAMBAN, Apr 24: Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Ramban, Shafkat Majid today sensitized the transporters about covid guidelines regarding the plying of public transport. In a meeting with representatives of transport unions, the ARTO asked the transporters to ply with only 50% of authorized seating capacity of public transport vehicles including auto, sumo, matadors, mini-buses and buses. He advised drivers and conductors to get themselves tested frequently to avoid Covid infection and do not allow people in their vehicles without wearing face masks.
The transporters assured full cooperation to administration in tackling the emergency situations arising due to surge in Covid positive cases. They also demanded hike in passenger fare like last year. |
