ANANTNAG, Apr 24: Principal District & Sessions Judge, Anantnag on Saturday ordered the closure of District Court Complex, Anantnag for physical activities after five persons, serving in different capacities, tested positive for COVID. However, the work in Court will continue through virtual mode, reads an order issued by Principal District & Sessions Judge Anantnag, Naseer Ahmad Dar, a copy of which lies with Early Times. According to the order two judicial employees besides as many PSOs and a Bar member have been found positive for Covid-19. “As such it has been on the submission of the Bar Association, keeping in view the surge in positive cases, decided that all the Judicial Officers posted at District Headquarters shall conduct the hearing of cases through virtual mode upto April 30 (2021),” reads the order. In the communication, the District & Sessions Judge Anantnag has designated officers for responding to lawyers and litigants. “The designated court officials have been asked to respond to the lawyers and litigants effectively during the Court hours to avoid any inconvenience and each Court asked to monitor the same,” it reads The entry of Learned Members of the Bar and litigants in the District Court Complex, as per the directive, shall remain restricted till April 30, 2021 subject to directions of the High Court of J&K. The attendance of the staff is to be also governed by Order No. 189 of 2021/RG dated April 5, 2021, it further said. Meanwhile on Saturday, Anantnag reported fresh 99 cases of COVID-19 after which Deputy Commissioner Anantnag declared more containment zones. Those areas which have been declared more containment zones include Kadipora Anantnag, Pingwan Hardtoor, Hanjidanter, Mirdanter, Sirhama and Khan Mohalla Check Brah. |
