Despite ceasefire, Pak targets Jammu borders
Drone terror returns along IB
4/24/2021 11:25:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 24: Even as the armies of India and Pakistan have reaffirmed a ceasefire along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir, the neighboring country doesn’t seem to be giving up its evil designs on the winter capital region.
Pakistan has resumed its drone attacks on Jammu, presumably in a bid to smuggle in arms and ammunitions into the Indian territory for support of terror activities in Kashmir.
On April 24, the Border Security Force (BSF) said that it foiled a drone/UAV intrusion bid from across the LoC amid Ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
It was the first such nefarious attempt by Pakistan in the recent past since the ceasefire agreement was reaffirmed earlier this year.
The BSF spokesman said that despite the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, on Saturday alert BSF troops in Arnia Sector foiled drones’ intrusion bid by Pakistan on International Border or IB.
“During the early morning hours today, two Drones/UAV were observed entering from Pakistan side and Immediately fired upon by vigilant BSF troops which compelled it to retreat back to Pakistan territory,” the spokesman said.
“Today’s drone intrusion Bid foiled by BSF Jammu troops is indicative of alertness and swift retaliatory action by BSF on a drone intrusion from Pak side.
The BSF intelligence branch was receiving inputs about possible use of Drones by Pakistan for ferrying arms and ammunition from Pakistan into Indian side. Accordingly the troops are on alert and the border domination was exponentially increased,” the spokesman said.
It’s pertinent mention that on June 20, 2020, the Border Security Force had shot down a Pakistani drone along the International Border in the Hira Nagar sector -foiling another attempt of Pakistani agencies to drop weapons and arms across the border.
The patrolling party of BSF from 19 Battalion had spotted a Pakistani drone flying in the Rathua area of Hiranagar sector and fired eight rounds on it, thus shooting it down. The team had recovered 1 M-4 US-made rifle, 2 magazines, 60 rounds of bullets and 7 grenades.
Intelligence agencies have inputs that Pakistan is using drones in Jammu region to infiltrate arms and ammunition to keep the pot boiling in Kashmir.
