A special campaign promoting ‘no helmet and no petrol’ will be launched in the district, the meeting decided.
The Deputy Commissioner said that road safety is the prevention and protection of road accidents by using all the road safety measures.
He said collective efforts were required to mitigate the road accidents and urged the concerned officers to ensure close interdepartmental coordination for minimizing the road accidents and timely rehabilitation of the accident victims.
The Principals of different schools and colleges were directed to constitute the Road Safety Clubs in their institutions as envisaged in the Road Safety Act.

The Senior Superintendent of Police was asked to conduct a survey on the causes of the accidents and submit a report in this regard, so that concrete steps would be taken to minimize the same.
