RAMBAN, Apr 24: Department of Agriculture has provided 210 Qtls maize seed, 20 Qtls paddy seed and 10 Qtls fodder seed to the farmers at subsidized cost in district Ramban. Department also distributed 49 Qtis potato seed for summer crop, 10.37 Qtls vegetable seed and 43.50 Qtls spice seed among the farmers. The Chief Agriculture Officer informed that during the ongoing Kharif campaign in District Ramban, 415 Qtis high yielding hybrid maize seed, 20 Qtls Paddy seed & 55 Qtis fodder hybrid seeds have been received from the Directorate of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Jammu which have been stocked in various zonal stores. As many as 2910 beneficiaries have been covered so far and rest stock is available for the famers and the process of seed distribution shall continue till ending June 2021 as the sowing in lower parts of the District extends upto 30th June, he added. The farmers have expressed their satisfaction on the timely supply of seed. |
