EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 25: Former MLC and senior Congress leader Ravinder Sharma has pleaded the most genuine demand of ex-servicemen and veer Naris of Sunderbani, Nowshera and Kalakote them from seeking referrals, time and again, from Rajouri for treatment in empanelled hospitals in Jammu and elsewhere. In a letter to the Raksha Mantri as well to the other concerned authorities in the MOD, as well as in J&K UT, JKPCC leader has detailed the avoidable hardships faced by the ESM and the Veer Naris of these areas for travelling to Rajouri and back and then to Jammu for specialized treatment in the recommended hospitals in Jammu or beyond and in the process, they have to undertake a journey of minimum 250 kms, which has to be repeated every time for seeking a referral. In case an ECHS polyclinic is sanctioned at Sunderbani, the ESMs of Sunderbani, Nowshera and Kalakote as well from area of Jammu and Reasi districts, in the close vicinity of Sunderbani would easily avail this facility, Sharma said. He said that the request of the ESM and Veer Naris of this border belt has been pending since 2014-2015 but it has not received fair consideration from the authorities till date despite being the most genuine demand. He urged the Defence Minister to consider the genuine demand of the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris of these border areas on priority basis, especially in view of the ongoing tsunami of worst Covid-19 all over the country. |
