Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 25: A retired government officer, who had served Board for Muslim Specified Waqfs (BoMSW) is trying to get himself re-engaged against the post he had served in the past, sources told Early Times. They claimed that though he didn’t have a very good track record, during his stay in the BoMSW, is using his connections to get a second term in the Board. “The retired officer is using his connections with top leaders of the National Conference and some powerful employees of BoMSW, to get the post once again”, they said. The civil society members who are emotionally and religiously attached with this body want no more damage to this body by these blacksheep. The matter of exploitation of Board’s resources hogged headlines for a long time, but no action has been taken as yet. “The government agencies in the recent past came into action after the media highlighted the issue of exploitation of Board’s resources and illegally appointed bosses, but the entire exercise seems futile as no further actions were taken after that. We appeal to the government agencies, tasked to gather ground reports, should convey the reality and the resentment among stakeholders over the pathetic condition of the Board,” said civil society members from Srinagar. The board comes under Revenue Department’s control, “We appeal to the Secretary Revenue to order a special audit for the last five years, to know exactly how much loss the board has suffered.” |
