REASI, APRIL 27: In compliance with the directions reflected in the calendar of activities for the month of April, 2021 issued by the J&K State Legal Services Authority and under the overall supervision and guidance of R.N.Wattal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, DLSA Reasi, organized an On-line programme/Webinar on the theme of NALSA (Child Friendly Free Legal Services to Children and their Protection) Scheme, 2015. The online event was held in collaboration with five (05) Higher Secondary Schools of District Reasi i.e. HSS Reasi; HSS Katra; HSS Dharmari; HSS, Pouni and HSS Mahore, wherein Legal Literacy Clubs (LLCs) of DLSA, Reasi are already existing. Secretary, DLSA Reasi, presented the introductory remarks on the aims and objectives of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 and the working of National Legal Service Authorities (NLSA); State Legal Service Authorities (SLSA); District Legal Service Authorities (DLSA) and Tehsil Legal Service Authorities (TLSA). The Legal Officer JJB, Reasi, Sunali Khajuria and Panel Advocate, Rashi Baru spoke on the aims and objectives of the NLSA Child Friendly Scheme of 2015 and also briefly on the different Legislations enacted for the Children especially the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act (JJB Act) respectively. Secretary, DLSA Reasi also delivered a vote of thanks to the respective School Managements and spokespersons for their cooperation in making this On-line programme successful. The object of organizing this Webinar was to sensitize the students as to how the children when come in contact with the Justice System can be provided with meaningful, affordable and age-appropriate legal assistance.
